Who Is Lauren Holly?

The Canadian-American entertainer was born Lauren Michael Holly on October 28, 1963, in Bristol, Pennsylvania. Her birthplace is a reference to her American citizenship, but since 2008 she has also been a Canadian citizen.

The actress’ mother, the art historian Michael Ann Holly, works at the Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute as Director of Research and Academic Program. Ann Holly was formally at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where she was a professor. On the other hand, her father Grant Holly is a competent screenwriter and professor at Hobart and William Smith College, where he teaches literature.

Lauren grew up with two brothers (Nick and Alexander Holly), but unfortunately, Alexander died at the young age of 14 as a result of a fire that occurred on April 10, 1992. Her younger brother Nick earned his living as a frahling in Hollywood, where he worked with Don Buchwald and Associates, but he is currently with Fred Cross as a writing partner.

Lauren Holly graduated from Geneva High School, where she was a cheerleader. She then entered Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York, where she graduated in English in 1985. It is important to note that the young actress enrolled at the age of 12 in the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts to study acting and flute.

In memory of her late brother Alexander, the Holly family joined together to establish the “A” Fund at Hobart and William Smith College. According to Lauren, her late brother was a boy with big dreams and plans. Although he did not live beyond the age of 14, Alexander achieved much on his extensive travels through Europe and Central America. As a result of his travel experiences, he developed a strong interest in archaeology and architecture.
