Giancarlo, who has a theatrical background, began acting at the age of 8. He made his Broadway debut in 1966 when he played the slave child at Shirley Jones’ side in the musical Maggie Flynn.

This actor is no novice when it comes to theatre performances and television productions. After his Broadway debut in his childhood, he made his Broadway debut Broadway in the 80s and appeared on TV shows like Miami Vice and Spenser: For Rent. What put him in the spotlight was his role as Agent Mike Giardello in the television series “Homicide”: Life on the Street.

He starred in movies like Tap (1981) as Cadet J.C. Pierce, Maximum Overdrive, King of New York, Reckless, and Waiting to Exhale, starring Whitney Houston and Angela Bassett. He also got a lead role in the Daze Film School as the leader of the black brotherhood Gamma Phi Gamma directed by Spike Lee; this is widely considered his escape role.
