Who Is Gerald Green?

Gerald Green was born on 26 January 1986 in Houston, Texas, USA, and is a professional basketball player for the National Basket Ball Association (NBA). He began playing in his second year at Gulf Shores Academy High School in Houston, Texas when he entered the Junior University of J. Frank Dobie High School. He later moved to the Gulf Shore Academy for a repeat of his junior year, having encountered some challenges in his previous high school. During his time with Golf Shore in his senior year, Green averaged 33 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocked shots per game. This made him the top scorer of the 2005 McDonald’s All-American Game, and the same year the young player won the McDonald’s All-American Slam Dunk Contest after defeating future Duke player Josh McRoberts. He then joined the popular NBA club Boston Celtics and started playing for the team. In January 2006 he was selected by the Celtics for the NBA D-League. He served there for two years and played in 32 games, scoring an average of 11.8 minutes, 5.2 points, and 1.2 rebounds.

2007 was another successful year for Gerald Green, who successfully won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. In the same year, he became part of the Minnesota Timberwolves, after having scored 33 points in a game in Atlanta. In the second half of the year, however, he was traded for Kevin Garnett of the Minnesota Timberwolves along with other professional basketball players such as Sebastian Telfair, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, and Theo Ratliff. After playing for the Timberwolves for a year, Green moved to Houston Rockets in February 2008 and then to Russia in 2009, where he played for the external NBA team.

2011 marked a new beginning for the Greens, who returned to the USA and signed with the Los Angeles Lakers and D-Fenders for the NBA. A few months later, he signed with the Indiana Pacers and was transferred to the Phoenix Suns in 2013, where he played for two years until he was signed to the Miami Heat in 2015 and the Boston Celtics on July 27, 2016. He is currently under contract with the Houston Rockets. On 28 December 2017, he returned to the franchise for a second bet, with Gerald Green becoming the first player to make seven or more 3-point errors in consecutive games. This happened after he scored 27 points in a 116-98 win over Orlando Magic. As one of the stars in the NBA, Geral Green’s net worth is estimated at $2 million.

What Happened to his Hand (Finger)?

Gerald had an accident when he was in the sixth grade of high school. Wearing his mother’s class ring on his right ring finger, he tried to get stuck on a makeshift tire attached to a doorway, and the ring got caught on a nail that automatically tore his finger to the bone. The finger was finally amputated on the doctor’s recommendation. When he talked about the incident and its impact on his personality, Green said that he would have to deal with issues of insecurity afterward, as his colleagues made jokes about it both in high school and during his career. He also revealed that he never wanted people to know about it because it made him feel like an outsider. However, the accident did not cause him to give up his basketball career. After enduring the pain and shame, Green returned to the court with a bandaged hand and, although the amputated finger made it impossible for him to hold a ball in his hand, he still tries to make his shots, as he does to this day.
