Taran Noah Smith is an American actor that not so many would know at the moment, as he became famous in the 1990s thanks to his roles in sitcoms such as Home Improvement, where he played the role of Mark Taylor.
As he hasn’t been active in Hollywood since the 2000s, he still holds his place among the people who loved him as a child actor.
Taran Noah Smith’s Biography and Age
Taran Noah Smith was born on 8 April 1984 in San Francisco, California. Here he was raised at the side of his sister Ariandrea Hilary Smith by her parents, Candy Bennici and David Smith. For his education, he attended the University of Southern California, where he had the intention to study film.
Even before he was 10 years old, Taran got a role in the popular sitcom Home Improvement, which brought him fame. Before that, he got a role in ABC TGIF (1990) and later another role in Ebbie (1995). Little Bigfoot 2: The Journey Home, 7th Heaven, and Batman Beyond are other movies in which he played a role.
When he was an adult, he realized that he didn’t want to become an actor, and that made him stay away from the screen. As an actor, he won the TV Land Fan Favourite Award in 1992 and the Young Artist Award for exceptional performance by a young actor under the age of ten.
Although he went to university, he did not finish his studies because he later dropped out. There he met the woman who would later become his wife, Heidi van Pelt.
Since he left the public, Taran has managed to live a very quiet life until he was arrested on February 1st, 2012, and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. The former child star was also charged with possession of hashish and pleaded guilty to both charges. At his conviction, he received 12 hours of instruction in a drug diversion program for 18 months, a fine, and three years’ probation.
He was 7 years old when he began trafficking, and when he stopped, he was 19 years old.
From his work as an actor, Taran Noah Smith had 1.5 million dollars in a trust fund until he was 18 years old. After his 18th birthday, he filed a lawsuit against his parents, claiming that they had misused the fund and used it to buy a villa, and he won the case.
After he received the money, he and his wife used it to start a grocery store, which later fell apart as a result of their divorce. After he had squandered everything, his net worth was last estimated at $300,000.
Relationship and Wife
The relationship life of the Home Improvement actor is rather interesting. He married 32-year-old Heidi Van Pelt in 2001. At that time the former actor was only 17 years old and they had been together for several years before they finally decided to get married, which caused the young actor to leave the house.
They have been together ever since, and they even started a business together until they divorced in 2007. The divorce is said to be due to the enormous age difference (16 years) between them. However, it was later reported that Heidi preferred the company of girls to boys, and it was before she found out that the actor had found a steady girlfriend for himself. Heidi Van Pelt smashed every dish they owned before they later divorced.
The divorce was not amicable because they fought for the business they had started together.
Is Taran Noah Smith Dead or Alive
Probably as a result of how much the actor stayed away from the screen, many people now assume that he is dead. On the contrary, man is very much alive and leads a very private life. Recently there have been talks about a restart of the 1990s sitcom, Home Improvement by Tim Allen, but it is not known if this will actually happen and if Smith will be involved.
The last time anyone heard of the former Home Improvement actor was after Hurricane Harvey, where he played a role in helping people rebuild their homes. He worked as a volunteer for Burners Without Borders and stayed in a camp outside Corpus Christi, Texas.
As a rather lanky former actor who looks good, Taran has a height of 1.83 m.
