Steven N’Zonzi Bio
Born as Steven N’Kemboanza Mike N’zonzi on 15 December 1988 in France, La Garenne-Colombes, N’zonzi is of Congolese descent and has a French mother.
Like many other children who would grow up to be great football players, Steven had always played football since childhood. This led to him starting an early youth career at Racing Paris at the age of 10.
Only a year later he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, where he stayed until 2002 when he left to continue his youth football career with CA Lisieux. He spent the next year in Caen and then the following year in Beauvais, and moved to Amiens in 2005.
N’zonzi rose to the senior side of Amiens in 2009, where he played 37 games for the team and scored one goal before moving to England to join Blackburn Rovers. 86 games and 5 goals later, he moved to Stoke City in 2012, where he would remain until 2015.
After a very successful career at Stock City, Steven moved to Seville, where he remained with the team until the end of the 2017/2018 season. After the opening of the transfer market for the 2018/2019 season, many teams such as Arsenal sought his signature.
In his national colors, the Blues defensive midfielder received his first invitation to play at the U-21 level in 2009. With his great footballing skills, his home country Congo DR, England, and France had opened the doors for him to play for them at the national level.
As it turned out, he would eventually play for the French national team in 2017. Just one year later, he was invited to play in the national colors at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
For the most part, his football career can be described as a very successful one, especially since he reached the final round of the 2018 FIFA World Cup with the French team. With Sevilla, he won the UEFA Europa League in 2016 and was also appointed to the squad for the UEFA Europa League of the season.
The French football player married Lynda N’Zonzi in 2013. Not much is known about the way the two met, but shortly after the connection was made they made the news with reports of looming crises.
Although they had a son, the two would continue their separate paths in 2016. Previously, Steven N’zonzi had been taken to court after his wife accused him of domestic violence after he allegedly beat her in front of her four-month-old son.
In his defense, the footballer said he only shook his wife to calm her down when she called him a useless dad. He also claimed that she called her mother and told her that her son had no dad because N’zonzi was useless. All of this, he revealed, his wife had said at his hearing, so it could hurt him.
In December 2015, Steven N’Zonzi was acquitted of all domestic violence charges, but a divorce suit by Lynda N’Zonzi was soon to follow, claiming that the marriage had already gone beyond repair. It was not too long before the court finally dissolved the marriage in January 2016.
Since the end of his marriage to Lynda, there has been no news of his relationships. It is therefore not known whether he has dated anyone since the end of his marriage with his ex-wife.
