Sindarius Thornwell Bio

Sindarius was born on November 23, 1994, in South Carolina. He grew up in Lancaster, a small town in South Carolina, about 40 miles south of Charlotte, with a population of about 10,000 people.

His athletic activity dates back to his school days. Records show that he was a student at Lancaster High School, where he spent three years before moving to Oak Hill Academy, where he completed his high school education. It is said that Sindarius Thornwell was first a quarterback until he gave up American football in ninth grade because he believed there was no future for it.

When he played as a senior for the Oak Hill Academy basketball team, Sindarius averaged 3.6 assists, 8.6 rebounds, and 26.8 points per game. He led his team to a record 33-5 and it was only natural that several platforms ranked him as a top candidate.

Although several colleges tried to recruit him after high school, he decided to get involved with the University of South Carolina (he did so to be close to his family) and immediately became a top prospect in the NBA after a successful freshman season, in which he was nominated for the SEC All-Freshman Team 2014.

He also proved himself through his impressive goalkeeping and exceptional defensive maneuver. Thornwell earned the honor of the All-SEC First Team and was named SEC Player of the Year in his senior year. Given the things he achieved with the South Carolina Gamecocks, there was no doubt he would do well in the NBA.

Sindarius Thornwell signed up for the 2017 NBA Draft and was drafted in the second round as the 48th general choice of the Milwaukee Bucks. His draft rights, however, were sold to the Los Angeles Clippers, who had scouted for him. Finally, he made a deal with the LA Clippers and fought for the team as a guard.
