Jon Rahm- Professional Career

Jon’s professional career began in 2016, upon his return from the 2016 U.S. Open, where he relinquished his exemption. He competed in the Quicken Loans National a week later, losing to Billy Hurley III, although his finish was good enough to reclaim his spot in the championship because it was part of the Qualifying Series. Jon finished second in the RBC Canadian Open, earning Special Temporary Member Status in the Series. He earned the PGS Tour Card for 2017 after earning points as a nonmember.

Jon won the Farmers Insurance Open in January 2017, putting him at 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking and allowing him to compete in several more tournaments. On March 2, 2017, Jon competed in his first World Golf Championship, finishing second to Dustin Johnson. He subsequently made his WGC Matchplay debut, finishing 14th for the first time in his career. Jon competed in the FedEx Cup during the regular season, finishing in the top ten in all four FedEx Cup Playoff events and fifth overall.

He tested positive for COVID -19 and had to withdraw from the Memorial Tournament as the defending champion. Jon won the US Open Tournament on June 20, 2021, dedicating his victory to the late Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros and celebrating with his wife and newborn son.
