Gary Cahill Biography
It was in the north-east English town of Dronfield in Derbyshire, England, where the objective defender was born on 19 December 1985. Although he is British, he also has Irish descent thanks to his grandparents.
He was raised by his parents. Since childhood, Cahill has always loved football and supported Wednesday in Sheffield.
As he was very interested in football, he joined his first club at the age of 15 and since then there has been no turning back for him.
Before he decided to play professional football, Cahill completed an apprenticeship at the Dronfield Henry Fanshawe School. From there he switched to football.
Club Football Career
Although the captain has made a name for himself at Chelsea F.C., he has come a long way since playing his youth football for AFC Dronfield, which he left in 2000 to join Aston Villa.
In 2004 he had already begun his senior international career with the same team but was later sent on loan to Burnley, where he played until 2005. His next step was a loan to Sheffield United, whom he supported as a child and for whom he played from 2007 to 2008. When his loan expired, the central defender was sold to the Bolton Wanderers.
Having played 130 games and scored 13 goals, Cahil made his big move from Bolton to Chelsea in 2012 for a fee estimated at nearly £7 million. By the end of the 2017/2018 season, in which he led the Blues to win the FA Cup against Manchester United, he had already played 189 games for the club and scored 13 goals.
The aggressive defender has won many trophies with Chelsea, including the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and two English Premier League titles. He has also won the FA Cup and three FA Community Shield trophies and was runners-up at the FIFA Club World Cup. With Bolton Wanderers, he was named Player of the Year in 2009.

He played for the senior national team at both UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where the team failed to make it through the group stage. Before the defender was called up to play at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he had already played 58 matches for the country, scoring 4 goals in the process.
In the tournament, where the Three Lions finished fourth, Gary was only allowed to play one match in the group stage against Belgium. In that game, the Lions went down to zero by scoring against the Red Devils, only to bow out again by 2 goals in the playoffs – no nothing in the playoffs for third place.
