Bio

Born on March 18, 1983, in Aurora, Colorado, USA. Brendan’s mother Debra was British, while his father Peter Schaub was American. Brendan attended Overland High School, where he began to hone his skills in competitive sports. He played active football. He transferred to Whittier College and immediately joined the football team.

Brendan didn’t stay at Whittier College long before moving to the University of Colorado, where he played in 26 games. Brendan has also played for the Utah Blaze and in the training squad for the NFL’s Buffalo Bills.

Brendan’s UFC adventure began when he became friends with heavyweight contender Shane Carwin. They trained together, and he was soon accepted into the Ultimate Fighting Championship by Team Rashad, where he defeated players like Demico Rogers, Jon Madsen, and Marcus Jones and reached the final, which he lost to Roy Nelson by knockout.

In October 2010, he made his UFC 121 debut in California against Gabriel Gonzaga, a former UFC heavyweight challenger, and won the game. In March 2011 he faced Mirko Cro Cop and knocked him out in the third round after a well-placed counterattack and a four-fight winning streak.

Throughout his career, he has defeated many players, including Johnny Curtis, Alex Rozman, Matt Mitrione, Lav Johnson, Chase Gormley, and Jay Lester.

Towards the end of his career, Brendan Schaub lost some competitions. Brendan Schaub fought UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski in June 2014 and lost. In December 2014 he also lost in the first round against Travis Browne through technical knockouts. Six months after the defeat, Schaub announced that he would return to the light heavyweight division. On October 12, 2015, he announced his retirement.

Wife/Girlfriend

Brendan has good looks and charisma to burn, so it was never a challenge for him to get the ladies roaring. He has been with the American professional wrestler, actress, and former mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey. For various reasons, the relationship was doomed from the start. Rousey had a brief relationship with another UFC fighter Travis Browne, who had knocked out Brendan in a fight. Even after the couple separated, there were allegations of cheating between the two.

Brendan Schaub is dating the beautiful American TV presenter and actress Joanna Zanella. They got engaged in 2017. Before their engagement, the couple welcomed their son Tiger Pax Schaub, born on February 21, 2016. There are rumors that the engagement has been dissolved, but no official confirmations have been received yet.
