Alex Walsh jumped in to help the Cavaliers right away. She finished fourth in the 100 breasts (58.28) and third in the 200 back at her debut ACCs (1:51.12). her victory in the 200, 400, and 800-meter medley relay Walsh was a multiple-champion in her first NCAA tournament. She won the 800 free relays and also helped the UVA women win their first overall team victory. 5th in the 200-yard freestyle (1:44.12) and 200-yard breaststroke (1:44.12). (2:05.86). One second faster in the first 100, but two seconds faster on the return, courtesy to a free leg time of 30.30 vs. 31.87 in Pan Ams. Pelton got off to a faster start than Walsh, but she lacked backside speed. Alex Walsh qualified first in 2:09.30 on night 4 in Omaha. She had to withdraw after swimming the prelims (13th, 1:00.86).
